SURFING LESSONS ORGANIZATION AT KOA

Koa Surf School is a benchmark in Ribamontán al Mar because of high-quality lessons.

Small groups

We work in small groups which are made homogenously according to levels and ages. Although the lessons are as a group, they are personalized as much as possible. We also offer you the possibility of private or couples lessons, as you prefer.

Duration of lessons

Lessons are about 2 and a quarter hours. We organize a little bit longer lessons in order for them to be perfect. Lessons are divided into theory and practical, although the practical part takes longer.

We recommend the 5-or-7-days courses as your first option. Surfing practice is developed in a changeable environment and it sometimes entails some risks. That´s why in Koa Surf School, we include in our lessons basic knowledge related to currents, tides, ethical code in the water with the rest of surfers and bathers, waves formation, personal and third party safety, how beach and coast work, weather forecast etc. It is essential that the student masters the basics in order to enjoy surfing with autonomy.

In the case of your only having one or two days to attend, we will share with you the basic knowledge that you need to know in order to enjoy this sport.

Customization

During the practical part, the instructor will keep an eye on the group at all times by helping and correcting in order for you to improve. Under no circumstances, we will be outside the water as a mere observer.

Safety

We have a first-aid kit on the beach as well as moisturizing materials and direct communication with the school.

Our instructors are Surf Technicians by Cantabria Surf Federation as well as certified in “Water Rescue and First Aid”. Safety is essential for us. In addition, you will be covered by an Accident and Civil Liability insurance.
